How to Titrate Presoaks for Car Washes!

Titrating presoaks for car washes is important when it comes to measuring the quantity and reactions of any given chemicals. Use the resources below to learn more about how to properly titrate presoaks for your car wash.

Use the Following Items When Titrating Your Presoaks

There are certain items you need when it comes to titrating your presoaks. These items include-

1 Graduated Cylinder.

A Titration Kit, Including-

A Test Tube

A Mixing Vial.

A Bottle of Either Alkaline or Acidic Presoak Reagent.

A Bottle of Indicator Solution.

A Technical Data Sheet That Includes Your Titration Chart.

Follow These Steps for Successful Titration!

Once you have all these items, it’s time to get your sample from the bag. Going from there, follow these steps:

(Step One)

Turn the function on, and take your graduated cylinder into the bag, pulling your sample from the application arch, filling half the cylinder with solution.

(Step Two)

After the solution has settled in the cylinder, fill your 8ml mixing vial with the solution. Ensure that there are no bubbles on the top of this vial, as that will cause an incorrect reading in your titration.

(Step Three)

Pour the vial into the container and add three drops of indicator solution to the sample. This will cause an alkaline sample to go pink, while an acidic sample should stay clear. (If using alkaline products, use the alkaline reagent one drop at a time into the mixing valve, until the solution returns clear. If titrating an acid product, you’re going to take the acid reagent and apply one drop at a time until the solution turns pink.)

(Step Four)

Once your solution turns clear (for alkaline), or pink (for acidic), take the number of drops for either type and refer to your titration sheet. Now you can see what your product’s titration is based on the drop count.

Make Sure You’re Getting The Most Out of Your Chemicals!

Titration can vary from location to location, or from season to season. Contact your ChemQuest chemical provider to find the best titrations for your needs. Thanks for checking out this tutorial!
